After studying linguistics and later working as a management assistant in printing and publishing, I decided to complete a distance learning course in translation in the late 1990s – and found my dream job. My translation career began with subtitling. The first film that I had the pleasure of translating won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale in 2005. “U-Carmen” is a remarkable adaptation of George Bizet’s opera.

I worked as a freelance translator for nearly 20 years. And the more experience I gained, the more I wanted to try something new. So I was really happy to join the exact1 team in 2015.
