At school, I liked Maths as well as languages, and later went on to study mathematics and German, which may seem like an unusual combination. My degree also involved a year abroad in Mannheim.
After graduating, I decided to specialise in languages and completed a Master’s degree in Translation at the University of Surrey in Guildford, England. I then returned to Mannheim and started working at EDV-Übersetzungen Angelika Ottmann (which later became exact! GmbH).
Having now worked as a translator for 17 years, I still really enjoy the job. At exact! I am also responsible for programming macros, which gives me the opportunity to use my maths skills as well.
