Internship opportunities

What we offer:

We regularly offer
internships to students of translation studies. We provide our interns with an overview of the job of a translator and the day-to-day requirements.

The feedback we receive from our interns confirms that their experiences are overwhelmingly positive. Three former interns joined our team as permanent, full-time translators after completing their studies.

We offer the following internships:

  • Internship during the semester holidays (minimum eight weeks) for students with A language German and B language English or A language English and B language German
  • Semester abroad (six months) for students with A language English and B language German

Your profile:

Internships in the semester holidays are only open to students on a Master’s degree programme in translation studies. Internships for students on a semester abroad are open to students of German (who aim to become translators) or translation studies (Bachelor or Master). In addition to the required language combinations, basic IT skills are also required. We do not offer internships to translators who have already completed their studies, as this goes against our philosophy.

Your tasks:

An internship with us comprises various activities, including:

  • Entering terminology
  • Translation memory maintenance
  • Alignments
  • Terminology research
  • Formatting tasks
  • Office work such as preparing TM analyses and PDF exports
  • Interns can also complete practice translations using old translation jobs, which are then discussed with a translator.

We provide interns with training in the following:

  • Across
  • crossTerm
  • Trados Studio
  • Various project management tools
